About me

My name is Jim Dunstan. I've been interested in technology for a long time, and started programming on a ZX81 30 years ago. I feel very lucky to have experienced at first hand, the developments in computing technology, and to have worked as a programmer at a time when huge changes were being made.

For the last two years, I've been self employed - running my own web design and software company. Previous to that, I was with QA Plus in Wales, which was great - in that I gained a lot of experience (of the business of software development), but  it was not the vibrant, stimulating experience that you often hear about in other software companies. In fact, it was quite backward, and I spent a lot of my time trying to get them to move away from MS Access development, and into .NET winforms, WPF or Webforms. To no avail, I might add.

Not to worry, I make my own choices now, and although they might not always lead to lucrative deals, I don't feel undervalued, and degraded by bullies.
