Make your website user friendly
No matter how brilliant your website design is, if it is hard to reach the content of your site then it is of no use to anybody. Here are some tips to improve the usability of your website to ensure it serves its purpose well.
First, of all, make sure the typography is suitable for the content of your site. CSS styles should be applied to make sure lines of text are spaced appropriately. Ensure that the size of text is sufficient, so that no users have to strain their eyes to read it.
Design your site, so that all content is easy to find at a glance. If your site contains hundreds, or thousands of articles, then you need to design a method to display an index of articles, with search methods and filters. The search methods need to be intuitive and easy to perform.
To avoid user boredom, ensure that your site loads as quickly as possible. Many users will quickly become frustrated, and look for other sites if a web site does not load within a few seconds. Make sure the best content of your site is presented on the first page, to maintain their attention.
Most importantly, test every link on your site. There is nothing less professional than a site with broken links - so get this sorted out before you upload your site.
