New Android Tablets - Linux dominating market?

Linux is becoming ubiquitous, but not in the form of the desktop operating system - rather in the form of Android for portable devices. Everyone wants an iPad or iPhone these days, but most people aren't prepared to pay the £400+ to get one. If you shop around these days, you will find a lot of very good tablets and mobile devices that are based on Googles' Android operating system for a fraction of the price of an iPad. Some of these tablets are being sold for around £100, which is affordable by anyone's standards. One of the advantages of the Android operating system, is that it doesn't have a chip on its shoulder for supporting proprietary frameworks, unlike Apple - so Flash support is included. No hassle - no fuss. Android has a lot of free applications for download, and plenty of others for pocket money prices. I don't think you can expect the polished, glitch free performance that you would get from an iPad, but the Android tablets I've tried have performed well, and have a lot of great features - such as HDMI ports, dual core processors, 10.1 inch touch screens, and even 3D screen support (LG optimus).  Some of the free applications are fantastic, such as the astronomy apps, comic readers,  and the huge range of music and media players.
